Sygic Drive with "Philippine Map"

I recently installed version 11 of Sygic Drive on my Galaxy Note alongside the usual Navitel and Google Maps. It has a fantastic interface, and responds quite nicely. On top of that, it's got social networking options so you can share your whereabouts to family and friends. The map is nowhere as complete compared to the Roadguide.ph map but it definitely serves nice eye-candy with its 3D buildings and fly-overs.

The Galaxy Note

It's been a few years since I wrote useful information about the Samsung Omnia. Because of that phone, I was able to delve into GPS stuff. Most notably, navigational programs like Garmin Mobile, Navitel, and others. At the time, driving around Manila with using such aids were a cool novelty. Probably still is. And during those two or so years, the navigable Philippine map has evolved to be a more detailed and sophisticated one (thanks to the Roadguide.Ph contributors). I recently have gotten hold of the fairly new Samsung Galaxy Note and since this is my first time to use an Android OS, there is so much information overload.
My Galaxy Note was sim-locked to Smart Mobile (Philippines) and was initially loaded with Gingerbread 2.3.5 (or was that 2.3.6? ... couldn't remember). Since I'm sucker for pushing my gadgets to their potential, it's not surprise I flashed the Note with the official Ice Cream Sandwich firmware which was specific to my mobile carrier (Smart).
Pretty soon, I'll be loading this phablet with Nav programs that should work wonderfully for the Philippines. Check back soon!

Today, I decided to sign up for Neobux and Clixsense since a friend referred this potentially high-paying, clicking-on-ads activity to be legit. Since there's no money involved at sign-up, I'll give it a try. You do have to sign up for AlertPay or have a PayPal account though. The secret they say is to have referrals (or downlines) and even maximize the earning potential by upgrading your membership. Let's see if this works? I'm a bit curious ... Real-Time Vehicle Tracking using Unlimited Cellular Calls

Fancy tracking your vehicle in-real time using unlimited calls?
Along with all the usual geo-fencing options, SMS alerts, motion, door open/close sensors and more, this tracker can track a vehicle in real time using only a GSM phone call. Once the the tracker is installed in the vehicle, you simply make a phone call into the tracking unit and allow the USB decoder to listen in for the GPS position. Using the popular Unlimited Calls available in Manila, tracking a wayward vehicle in street level is now possible. No internet connection is required, any desktop or laptop PC can function as a tracking computer.

With the rich feature set I will mention below, the unit's cost is very affordable. More importantly, there are other upgrade modules available which can provide additional functions such as data logging and bluetooth connectivity. With the bluetooth kit, a laptop, pocket pc can easily run a GPS navigational program (Garmin Mobile XT works wonderfully).

This tracking unit provides the most user-friendly method of tracking. Simply call the tracker until you hear the handshake tone and put the phone speaker next to the decoder microphone. The decoder will decode the dial tone into a standard GPS NMEA data. At the image on the left, we succesfuly made to work the Garmin Mobile PC version with the tracker. In this sense, you immediately have a working street level tracking system!
The tracking unit will work with any mobile phone carrier in the Philippines and obviously, you should know that tracker like these require a sim card inserted in the unit. Only the handshake tone is required for the decoder to work so you are not limited to using a mobile to call the vehicle - a land line can be used as well.
The big question is, why track your vehicle? Paranoia? Novelty? In my opinion, a passive level of security by way of a simple and affordable investment outweighs whatever liabilties or fears a vehicle owner may express. Be it a concerned parent concerned about the whereabouts of a teenage driver, or a loving husband/wife coming home way past bed time.
Business owners top heavy on their vehicular assets can call on the accurate reckoning of fuel costs, vehicle maintenance, insurance, payroll and overtime expenses - hence vehicles can be operated with maximum efficiency, safety, and productivity.
Here are some of the note-worth specs:

•Track, remote control, and tap any object globally in real time by using any regular SIM card (with one phone number), any regular phone (home phone, mobile phone, in conjunction with a mapping software).
•Point to point tracking solution, no need to check from the internet. Only a phone call is needed to track the subject, and see the moving object from a mapping software in real-time. (Take advantage of unlimited calls).
•GEOFENCING function and alerts.
•Remote control shut down: stop car oil, electricity from any phone.
•Wiretapping (hear voices from trackers side).
•Vibration sensor: automatically dials back and sends alerts when motions occurs.
•SENSORS: door/hood opened, window breakage, unauthorized start, towing.
•DATA LOGGING of trips.
