Sygic Drive with "Philippine Map"

I recently installed version 11 of Sygic Drive on my Galaxy Note alongside the usual Navitel and Google Maps. It has a fantastic interface, and responds quite nicely. On top of that, it's got social networking options so you can share your whereabouts to family and friends. The map is nowhere as complete compared to the Roadguide.ph map but it definitely serves nice eye-candy with its 3D buildings and fly-overs.

Testing Juice Defender on the Galaxy Note with ICS.

Short battery life? JuiceDefender is a Must Have #Android http://juicedefender.com

After much tweaking and customizing, I definitely will recommend JD to anyone who needs connectivity on a daily basis without compromising battery consumption.

The Galaxy Note

It's been a few years since I wrote useful information about the Samsung Omnia. Because of that phone, I was able to delve into GPS stuff. Most notably, navigational programs like Garmin Mobile, Navitel, and others. At the time, driving around Manila with using such aids were a cool novelty. Probably still is. And during those two or so years, the navigable Philippine map has evolved to be a more detailed and sophisticated one (thanks to the Roadguide.Ph contributors). I recently have gotten hold of the fairly new Samsung Galaxy Note and since this is my first time to use an Android OS, there is so much information overload.
My Galaxy Note was sim-locked to Smart Mobile (Philippines) and was initially loaded with Gingerbread 2.3.5 (or was that 2.3.6? ... couldn't remember). Since I'm sucker for pushing my gadgets to their potential, it's not surprise I flashed the Note with the official Ice Cream Sandwich firmware which was specific to my mobile carrier (Smart).
Pretty soon, I'll be loading this phablet with Nav programs that should work wonderfully for the Philippines. Check back soon!
